Relating Romanticism to Fall Foliage in Vermont
I decided that I would find relation between the Romanticism era and something that I live through every year. Fall Foliage in Vermont is absolutely gorgeous and it attracts many out-of-staters every year. Fall foliage relates to the Romanticism era because in the Romantic era nature was introduced more and more into art work. Nature was just a small part of the Romantic era with many other big parts like more creativity, physic touch, emotion and imagination. Fall foliage relates to this in the way that it is a natural art but people find so much satisfaction and use photography to capture the art and make it last forever. I think that the idea for photography of nature relates to the Romantic era so much because it is an art that is very out of the box and creative, but is made to be enjoyed by people without seeing it in person. The Romantic era used so much creativity and changed so much that the sky was the limit for what kind of art you could create. With so much different, new and outside of the box artwork being created it was up to the viewer to enjoy it or not. With nature being involved in more artwork, I think it made people think more creatively with nature and that is where photography is involved. Fall foliage falls into the nature artwork category perfectly and I think could be a result of the Romantic era because of the change in involving nature in lots of artwork.

What's up Carbonator? Great post! The video definitely displays romanticism and transcendentalism. I agree that New England displays the best foliage especially up in New Hampshire and Vermont when driving up I-89. As a CM major, I love building in the outdoors and Vermont is definitely a place to build a log cabin and be surrounded by just nature.
ReplyDeleteHey Connor! I love how you used fall as your work of art. Personally I would have never thought of it! I love how you connect it to the era by really driving the natural aspect of the romanticism era. While I've never seen a New England fall, I really love looking at pictures from it, specifically Vermont. Today's mindset was really influenced by the era of romanticism.
